Adult Formation ~ Assist in the development, on-going growth,

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) ~ Assist those who wish to learn more about the Catholic faith by being a sponsor, planning and coordinating activities, or being a speaker.

Sacramental Preparation ~ Be a part
of a team that assists in facilitating activities for the sacramental preparation process.

SPRED (Special Persons Religious Education with Disabilities) ~ Assist in providing a personal
religious experience to individuals with developmental and other disabilities.

Maintenance - Ministry Opportunities
Facilities ~ This committee meets on a monthly basis to oversee the care of the parish
buildings and grounds. Recommendations for major improvements and the planning of
work days for routine maintenance needs are just a few its tasks.

Garden Club ~ This group overseas the care of our landscaped areas on our parish grounds.
Opportunities for involvement include planting, watering and weeding the landscaping or
adopting an area as an individual or group.

Parish & Family Life - Ministry Opportunities
Friendly Club ~ This social group for senior citizens meets once a month on the 2nd
Thursday (September - May) for Mass, and socializing.

Funeral Luncheons ~ Help prepare a dish or serve a dinner for family and friends
following the funeral of their loved one.

Knights of Columbus ~ Provides social and service functions to our parish family
and community.

Widows of Wisdom (W.O.W.) ~ W.O.W. seeks to promote a cohesive spiritual bond among
the widows of St. Charles Borromeo and to utilize the vast wisdom of its members in
support of each other socially and as otherwise needed for the growth of our community.

Prayer and Worship - Ministry Opportunities
Adult Choir (T) ~ The Adult Choir sings twice a month throughout the year and is open to all
adults, sixth grade and higher. The Choir practices on Wednesday evenings from
7:00 pm - 8:30 pm twice a month.

Art & Environment Ministry (T) ~ Assist in preparing, implementing and caring for the
liturgical environment within our worship space as a member of a workgroup.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHC) (T) ~ Ministers both species of Holy
Communion to the faithful at our Eucharistic liturgies. Opportunities to minister to our homebound
and those in the hospital are also available.

Hospitality Ministers (F, T) ~ Help set the tone of welcome to our celebration as you greet those
who enter our house of worship, perhaps even hold open a door. Assist in taking up the collection, ushering,
handing out bulletins after the liturgy, and 'tidying up' the pews in preparation for the next mass. Orientation is provided.

Lectors (T) ~ Proclaim the Word of God at weekday, weekend, holy day and special liturgical
celebrations. Training is provided.

Music Ministry (cantors and instrumentalists) (T) ~ Lead the assembly in sung
prayer. Schedules are made out quarterly throughout the year according to your own personal
schedule and preference. Practices are scheduled during the week and prior to your scheduled mass time.

Sacristan (PGC) ~ Assist with the preparation for each Sunday and weekday liturgy. Sacristans
tend to the numerous details that need attention before and during Mass. Training is provided.

Servers (T) ~ Assist the presider throughout our liturgical celebrations. Girls and boys,
fifth grade and older, are invited to participate in this ministry. Training and orientation sessions are required.

Vocation Crucifix (F) ~ Spend a week in prayer for all vocations - priests, sisters,
brothers, single and married life - by requesting the vocation crucifies and prayer binder.

Circles ~ These social and service groups for women meet monthly (September through May).

Connecting With Care ~ Provides assistance with needs ranging from fixing a leaking faucet
to washing windows to raking leaves. Volunteer to be on call for small repair, handy-person
projects and general help.

Guatemala Program of Hope ~ Opportunities for involvement include: financially sponsoring
a student in the Santa Maria Program or Mi Casita Daycare; financially supporting the
San Carlos Clinic or Student Scholarship Program; attending the Pre-Thanksgiving dinner
at St. Charles; contributing to the annual collection for the Program of Hope; buying or
helping sell "typical" Guatemala gifts items from the Guatemala Connection; or by joining
the Guatemala Task Force which plans and coordinates the activities of the Project for the
parish.

Habitat for Humanity ~ Assist in the building of a home for a low income family throughout
the late spring and summer.

Marriage Lead Couple Preparation ~ Journey with an engaged couple as they prepare to be
married. Time commitment includes 4 to 5 meetings with each couple. Training is provided.

Ministry for Persons with Disabilities ~ This ministry seeks to invite all members including
those with disabilities to be an active part of our parish community. Different opportunities
include serving on various ministry teams, preparation for our sacraments and helping to meet
the physical needs of our parishioners with physical limitations.

St. Charles Food Pantry ~ Assist with sorting and stocking food donations. Donations
of food are welcome and can be dropped off in the back of church or outside the pantry
door located inside the entrance of Borromeo Hall. Assistance is also needed during
food pantry hours on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm.

St. James Place (Soup Kitchen) ~ Serve dinner and provide hospitality to the guests of
St. James Place on the 4th Friday of every month. A minimum of 6 adults/children/youth
are needed to provide this service.
