Lifelong Learning "You Didn't Learn Everything in Kindergarten"
Throughout the year, various topics in the areas of theology, morality, scripture, psychology,
etc. are offered. See the parish bulletin for topics and dates.

Small Christian Communities (SCC)
Small Christian Communities (SCC) are a way for people to come together in the most basic
and personal unit of the parish. Groups of eight to twelve adults or families with
children gather in homes at regular intervals to discuss their lives in light of Gospel
Values and to be church by sharing faith through prayer, friendship, and service.
SCC's at St. Charles meet year round.
If you are interested in being a member of a Small Christian Community, contact Larry and Marilyn Grutt at 816-453-3645.

Spiritual Enrichment Ministry
Additional adult faith formation opportunities are provided by the Spiritual Enrichment Ministry
throughout the year. These opportunities are for personal growth and reflection as well as
community growth and ministry discernment. The Spiritual Enrichment Ministry team facilitates
a semi-annual retreat for ministry leadership bodies and a book club that meets monthly. Spiritual
companioning, day away activities, and Listening for Understanding, among others, are also
available. For more information, contact Joyce Rauth-Fears (816-420-9496).

SPRED (Special Religious Education for Those With Disabilities)
SPRED is a diocesan program offered through the Diocesan Ministry With Persons With
Disabilities, a program of Catholic Charities. This program provides a personal
religious experience to persons with developmental and other disabilities. SPRED believes
that those with disabilities have the God-given right to nourish their spiritual life,
as well as the opportunity to share their gifts and give glory to God. The program
serves the needs of ages 6-10, 11-17, 18-21 and 22 plus.
